Waterline: Looking and Listening After Katrina is an artwork based on the documentary sources collected via photography, video and oral history recordings started days after Katrina hit land. The installation at the Hyde Gallery is part of a series of artworks and installations being developed by artists Anna O'Cain and Richard Keely based on their experiences helping family and friends after the storm.

Within days after Katrina landed O'Cain and Keely traveled to Pascagoula (Anna O'Cain's hometown). Richard drove their van out to give to Liz O'Cain, Anna's sister. The van was filled to the brim with supplies donated from friends and colleagues in California. Anna flew out eight days later to stay and help her sister for two weeks. Liz's home flooded with about forty inches of water. She lost the contents of her home, her car, and her restaurant.
